Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how PNJ Games (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use Fivefold Chess (the “App”).

1. Information we collect

Information you provide:

  • Email address and password, if you create an account. Firebase Authentication stores the password. We store your email on your profile.

  • Username.

  • A guest account, if you choose “Continue as guest.” That account has an anonymous Firebase user ID and a username, and no email.

Information created by playing:

  • Ratings for each chess variant, games played, and the date the account was created.

  • Online games: the variant, moves, player IDs, and the usernames shown to the opponent.

Information used to show ads:

  • Google AdMob serves ads. Google may receive your device’s advertising ID, device type, operating system, language, IP address, and information about which ads are shown and clicked. AdMob’s use of that data is described in Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

  • On iOS, the App may ask for permission to track you across apps so ads can be personalized. You can refuse. Ads can still be shown.

  • If you are in a region that requires it, Google’s consent form appears before ads are requested. You can change that choice later through your device settings.

Information that stays on your device:

  • Sound on or off, and how often ads have been shown. This is stored locally and is not uploaded as an account profile.

We do not sell your personal information. The App does not take payments and does not collect a legal name, contacts, photos, or precise location.

2. How we use information

We use this information to run the App, create and sign you into an account, match you with another player, store games and ratings, show ads, prevent abuse, and respond to support and deletion requests.

3. How we share information

We share information with service providers that run the App:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect users or the App, or as part of a merger or sale of PNJ Games. Your username is visible to the opponent in an online game.

4. How long we keep it

We keep account and game information while the account exists. If you delete the account, we delete the profile, email, username, ratings, and sign-in record. Games an opponent already joined stay in that opponent’s history so their game is not erased. Your name on those games is replaced with “Deleted player.”

5. Security

We use Firebase’s access rules and authentication to protect account data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

6. Your choices

You can:

  • Delete your account in the App: open Account and tap Delete account. Email accounts must confirm with the password. Guest accounts can delete from the same screen.

  • Email philip@pnjgames.net and ask us to access, correct, or delete your data.

  • Refuse ad tracking on iOS, and use the Google consent form where it is shown.

7. Children

The App is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes

Updates to this policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
